steve kimock
I created this intimate portrait of Steve Kimock and his famous Explorer guitar in my studio during a shoot for the album artwork for "Eudemonic," Kimock's 2005 Studio release.

jason mraz

I took this photo at the 2008 West Beach Music Festival in Santa Barbara, California, just two blocks away form my home!
It was a beautiful evening, and the stylings of Mr. Mraz rang out over the sandy beach as the sun dissapeared into the watery horizon.

SCI says Fairwell...
This photograph of "Kang Land" was made at Horning's Hideout in 2007 during SCI's triumphant fairwell tour.
It was created during a 30 second long exposure, on the dock that stretches out across the glassy pond. The stretch of red glowing light, was made by some silly phreak walking along with a glow stick in tow.

Holding it down at SCI's 2007 Fairwell Horning's Hideout extraveganza!
If you were there you remember the magic!

Lotus
I shot this rare promo portrait of the band in my studio in 2004.
It was lit using their concert lighting, specifically to give the photo a "live feel," despite that it was done in the studio.

michael franti and spearhead
I shot this photo of the man standing 6 foot 6 above sea level in Eureka, CA in 2005. He played with Ziggy Marley.
It was an amazing evening. The rain beat down steadily upon the cement outside, and the room swelled with the heat of thousands of freaky people.

grace potter

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals at High Sierra Music Festival, 2006.
This was the first time I'd seen her live, and she rocked my world!
That woman can sing!

Ziggy Marley, West Beach Music Festival
I took this photograph of the reggae legend at the 2008 West Beach Music Festival.
The crowd was ragin' and the only other sound I could hear was the crashing of the waves on the Santa Barbara shore.

Bob Weir, Harmony Festival, Santa Rosa
This intimate portrait was taken in while Bobby was practicing backstage before Rat Dog's headlining performance at Harmony Festival in Santa Rosa, California.
It remains among the very favorite photos.

Merl Saunders, Melvin Seals, and Billy Kreutzmann,
"Comes a Time" Greek Theatre
At the 10 year Anniversary of Jerry Garcia's Death, many of his dearest friends and musical cohorts gathered at Berekeley's Greek Theatre to pay homage to their fallen 9-fingered friend.
Billy Kreutzmann, the legendary drummer for the Grateful Dead cheers as Melvin Seals embraces Merl Saunders, keyboard players for the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band, as he sits down at the piano for the first time since a life-altering stroke 2 years prior.

Ani Difranco, UC Irvine, 1997
I took this photo at the very first concert I ever shot, over a decade ago.
Ani was decked to the 9's in red, white and blue weave to display her very own brand of patriotism, as this show was on the 3rd of July.

Ben Harper, Santa Barbara Bowl
Ben roared "Please Bleed" during an amazing 2 hour set at the Santa Barbara bowl. He was on his "Burn to Shine" tour back in 2001.
If you look closely on this photo, you can actually see his molar. The detail is astounding.
